The question isn't whether you feel afraid; it's whether fear is in charge of your life.

Stephen C. Hayes

valuing progress over perfection and meaning over fear

peace in progress

Our Peace in Progress group is a 10-week treatment group designed to support adults and older adolescents with OCD and anxiety disorders who are ready to stop organizing their lives around anxiety and move forward with intention and care.

Rooted in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), this group offers a gold-standard evidence-based approach to working with anxiety rather than fighting against it. ERP is proven to consistently demonstrate excellent outcomes in the treatment of anxiety and OCD.

Participants can expect to gain a clear understanding of the anxiety cycle—how intrusive thoughts, fear, avoidance, safety-seeking and compulsions take hold—and learn practical ways to interrupt that pattern with skill and self-compassion.

Along the way, this group weaves in other evidence-based treatment approaches including mindfulness-based tools and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  We use ACT practices, to help members reconnect with what matters most and begin moving toward a life guided by personal values and meaning even in the face of fear. Sessions include mindfulness-based tools for emotion regulation and distress tolerance, to support participants with grounding and resilience while making progress through exposures.

Peace in Progress honors that growth happens at different paces and in different spaces. Participants may attend in person or virtually, allowing flexibility while staying connected to a steady, nurturing community.

This group is an invitation to move forward—thoughtfully, courageously, and with support—toward a life that feels more open, aligned, and your own. 🌿

Peace in Progress is designed and facilitated by our MSW advanced graduate level intern Kylie Emery, SUDP.
